With such a broad programme it is almost inevitable that the original estimated durations will have nothing to do with reality - so don't take them as correct.
Your problem is most likely calendar related.
Check that your duration column is formatted to working days if your calendar is set to working days.

sorry I took so long getting back her. You were right, everything pretty much went to plan afeter I got the calanders sorted out.
