Restore from P3 to P3e

There is a utility for converting P3 to XER and XER to P3:

Also remember P3 is a 16 bit application so it is limited to read 64 characters file names and 8 characters per subdirectory. Try copying your files into a folder with an 8 or less characters name, move the folder to your P# projects folder and try again.

How can I open an XER file in P3? is there a tool to convert. I have only P3 on my computer

The big difference i can see is that i can convert a .xer into a P3 files without have to open project.



And u can convert P3 files into a .XER without have to import the file.



I dont know why Primavera hides this tools ins this location ... but i use it a lot.

U can transform a .XER into a P3 - and vice versa - files using xerp330convert.exe that u can find on Common Files\Primavera Common\Convert

You cannot RESTORE from Primavera 5.0 to P3, in the sense of P3’s backup/restore. They are different database architectures, and are not directly compatible. The usual way that data is transferred is using the newer software’s import/export functionality.
