Hello James,

Make sure that the directory has read and write rights. after that, you may proceed further.

Hi Guyz,

Just to share with you that my Java application error just got solved. Im not sure if this error is somewhat connected to changing of login name on admin preferences.

I noticed that i encountered this problem when I started changing the login name with another name. This afternoon, I just return back all the default setting and it just work fine, as if nothing happened.

Thanks again for your continuous support.

Hi George,

You can back up your database. Go to Program --> Microsoft SQL Server 2005 --> SQL Server Management Studio Express. However, if you are using Windows Vista I guess there is a problem during back up. It happened to me, but if you are using Windows XP then it works fine.

Hi arnold, thanks for your prompt reply. Ive just checked based from your suggestion & its still the same.

Can’t figure out why did this happen.

If i have to reinstall my P6, how do I back-up all my files in such a way all the format i did on the EPS will still be same...

Is there any other way...

Thanks & Regards,

George

Hi Arnold,

I have checked the parameters on my machine and it says

-Dprimavera.bootstrap.home="c:\Program Files\Common Files\Primavera Common\Java" -Djava.ext.dirs="c:\Program Files\Common Files\Primavera Common\Java\lib;c:\Program Files\Common Files\Primavera Common\Java\_jvm\lib\ext" -Dapi.schedulecomparison.brand=ECC -Duser.region=$COUNTRY -Duser.language=$LANGUAGE -Dlogin.username=$USER -Dlogin.password=$ENC_PASSWORD -Dlogin.dbName=$CURRENT_DBNAME -Dupdatebaseline.projectId=$SELECTED_PROJECT_ID -Dupdatebaseline.baselineId=$SELECTED_BASELINE_ID -Dapp.name="$APPNAME" -DautoLogin=true -Dupdatebaseline.autoUpdate=true -jar "c:\Program Files\Primavera\Project Management\Baseline Update\prm-updatebaseline.jar"

Will you plz guide, what exactly this code is?

Cheers,

Hi James,

Try to check your registry.

Go to Start then "Run.." Type regedit, then click OK.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Primavera/Shared/Update Baseline.

Double-click PARAMETERS.

Navigate to the following location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Primavera/Shared/External Applications/Update Baseline

Double-click PARAMETERS:

Then try to check the starting, should be like this:

-Dprimavera.bootstrap.home="C:\Program Files\Common Files\Primavera Common\Java"

Hey Richard maybe some of us think that if someone is using P3 they may also know P6. Sometimes people look at both forums. Just ignore us.
