you have to notify the engineer about any impact of suspension occurred, as long as that
* would impact your payments (according cost incurred from suspension)
or/and
* affect your resposibility to :
* protect works (in progress or completed)
* securing the suspended works against deterioration, loss, or damage.
* affect the level of quality to works and/or materials in site (Works material, and not construction material), that is would not comply with specificatins any more.
If any other works is delayed due to the suspension(and suspension is still going on).Do we need to send the notices for those delays as well ,DURING SUSPENSION, complying to the FIDIC????
Hope to recieve your and others comment on the situation
Thanks

* You have to notify the Engineer about you intentions if you know and determine the suspension starting day.
Or,
* Notify him when you start the suspension.
* Dont forget to state your reference for that action (clause # ....), and list your reasons.
* Do not forget to reassure that the Employer received his copy
* notify the engineer and copy to Employer about the status of project activities, material on site, and personnel in charge (staff and labors), and what is expected dialy attendees in site.
* if still no action from the employer, notify the cost incurred monthly, and impacts facing and expecting, and the expected monthly claim ammount.
* after negotiations and ending the suspension period , send the results of negotiations, and new status of the project.

Hi Khawaja
Make sure that you set the suspension period into your calendat as a series of Non Work days.
This will establish the delay effect on all activities.
