This could happen due to a number of reasons, a few of the more common ones are listed below...
1) Calculation mode is set to manual.
Do the summary task dates match the lower level tasks when you hit F9? If they do you might have to set the calculation mode to automatic. (Tools > Options > Calculation)
2) The outline structure is incorrect
Are all the subtasks indented under the summary task? If one or more of the sub-tasks aren’t indented, the expected Start / Finish Dates for the summary task will not match the sub-tasks.
3) The summary tasks aren’t shown
Is the ‘Show summary tasks’ outline option checked? If it isn’t MS Project will only display the sub-tasks. (Tools > Options > View)

It works.After pressing the F9, Summary task dates match with lower level tasks.I have also set the calculation mode as automatic.
