There are a number of universities that offer degree or post graduate qualifications featuring project planning. Lincoln and Glamorgan have degrees containing modules on project planning, but I don’t know much more than that.
On the post graduate fron however, Glasgow University offers an MSc Project Planning and Development Project Analysis. Bradford University offers a similar MSc.

Thanks again for your replies.
Seems there isnt too much concern having questioned some prospective employers.

Ha!
This is purely organization dependent !
Some companies only promote people with good qualifications , exp and affiliations.
We may also find several managers who came up from the position of Fabricator/ Fitter or even helper !
But for fresh employment, most of the companies put these requirements :
Planner / Scheduler : Diploma or science degree
Planning Engineer : Engineering Degree
Planning Manager : Engg Degree + PSP / PMP

Thanks for your replies.
Just wondered whether it is really necessary to have to do an MSc type qualification.
I have done an official P3e course and I currently work with Open Plan.

Hi!
There are some PMI accredited project management degrees.
Check out www.pmi.org for more details.
The one I checked out is Boston University- MSPM programme.(It is a PMI approved /recommended degree)
Cheers!
