I know Microsoft have an downloadable add-in that uses PowerPoint and after sounding out a few people Sparrow Technologies might also have an add-in that suits your needs.
I haven’t used either product so I can’t vouch for their capabilities, but if you decide to give one of them a go, let me know if they’re fit for purpose as I may get around to using them if they’re any good.
I want to create "excel" like resource reports with column or line charts but using information directly from the msp schedules. It doesnt have to be real-time data but the PWA and the standard MSP functionality is simply not enough for me.

Unfortunately, reports supporting animated gifs, dynamic links to obscure websites and upt-to-the-minute stock quotation charts arent supported by Project.
That isnt what you were referring to? Sheesh, help us out here: what specifically do you want to see?
