Although u have already got better tip from Gerry but just to let you know that those excel macros work a bit differently. If you go to Tool-Macros (in Excel), you will see a long list of macros having names like GetActivity....Set Activity....
There you can retrieve (by using Get....) any data from any p3 files and then write your data in any p3 file using Set.... macros.
Maybe,..You can use the options of the UPDATE TARGET dialog box to automatically update the Actual dates of your target project.
To do this, you can go to Tools, Project Utilities, Target. Click the Update botton. On the dialog box, check "All Activities", "Underway" & "Completed".
Then on Store, check "Actual Dates". See to it that the other check boxes are cleared. Click UPDATE.
To do this, you need to have "exclus1ve access" to both baseline and current project.
Just try to have a back-up copy of your Baseline project, just in case..
Those tools were bit useful, if u need to export teh stuff from P3 to excel. But, then do u hav any tool to import the data back (apart from Import / export).
Thanks Ronald for the tip, but I dont know weather I have explanied it correctly or not!!
Lets try it again!!!
I have a updated program say, ABCD with 1900 activities. Now I want to have all those actual dates into the master baseline program, say EFGH having 22000 activities. In baseline program, activities of ABCD are linked with other different phases.
I just thought there must be some way to just change the actual dates. Is there any?
You do not need to delete the data to return a completed schedule to the un-started baseline schedule. Instead, use Global Change to make these changes
Now, suppose, if i have to delate all relationship in the project, I create a blank project and then rename it and then replace it with the old project. This will delete all the relationships in the project.
Now, in my present case, I want to import all the actual dates from program say, ABCD to Target program, say EFGH. If i rename the ABCD (actual date) file, and then paste it in the EFGH folder, then all the actual dates will be replaced. this is what I want to do. I can do it by Import/export as well, but I hav now Excel 2007 installed which doesnt support WK1 extension.
Am I clear?
So, I need the description of the files. Urgent Plz.
Cheers,
Ravi

Hi
You can download very powerful xls macros from the following link
ftp://suppsaleserver.primavera.com/utils/EXCEL/
Using these excel files you can GET data and SET data in any of p3 files. I hope this will serve the purpose.

You do not need to delete the data to return a completed schedule to the un-started baseline schedule. Instead, use Global Change to make these changes
For every activity, set:
Actual Start = " "
Actual Finish = " "
Remaining Duration = Original Duration
Percent Complete = 0
Good luck!

dear Steve,
I need it to replace the actual date file.
Now, suppose, if i have to delate all relationship in the project, I create a blank project and then rename it and then replace it with the old project. This will delete all the relationships in the project.

The files are only readable when opened with P3 anyway. So knowing which file relates to which data table doesnt really get you anywhere
