After you update the progress You have to "Store Period Performance" from "tools", otherwise P3 will make something adjustment over the whole activity actual duration.

I am explaining better, with a simply exmaple.

After first update period, Act 1, progress 20%, it mean earned value of 20%, on 1 period time.

At the second update period, Act 1, progress 80%, it mean earned value of 80% on the 2 period time!

While storing the period performance, P3 will remember that the first update period the earned was 20%.

Personally I had some problems using storing period performance, so I use P3 to develop the S-baseline, and to have the up to now quantities and then make all the charts in Excel.

Wilfred,

For Item one, there are many reasons why % progress is not equal to 100%, following might be possible causes:

· Total Target Budget quantity is not equal to total Current budget quantity

o To validate:

§ Save target budget quantity to custom data field “OBQ”, if not present u can create by Data, custom data items

§ After saving, filter data, selection , BQ Not Equal OBQ

· May be u added or deleted activity with resources in your current schedule

· May be u are having activity with progress % without actual dates

· Negative variance exists in some activity to view, press “Ctrl R”.

To resolve above Target total Budget quantity must be equal to current total budget quantity

Hope this will help.

Ali,

Before i’m using current early as my Base % and then i’ved

try to use Target early now it shows 0-100% but the problem

is my current early finish curve doesn’t reach 100%. For info my target finish date is 30Sept04 my current finish date is 11Nov04.

Luca,

wilfred,

You have to set the format of your Graphic Report as follow:

1- In Graphic Report go to "Content" tab and mark "Disply % on Y axis

2- If the total BC in your current schedule (updated one) is not the same as Target schedule, you have to choose the schedule with max. BC as "Base % on:"

Hope it resolve your problem.

One tips.

If You produced it in P3, when You will update the progress on weekly or monthly bases You have to store the period performance, or the last progress will be spread of on all the time frame elapsed!

Other solutionis to make the S/curve in excel using the info from P3.
