I also got reply from ASTA telling me that the .tix file is like a cache file. It saves information when you perform various actions so they are quicker next time you run them. You can delete the tix file but it will be recreated each time you open the project.

TIX files are generated when you exit PowerProject; whatever the size of the project file, TIX files are (always or most of the time?) only 1 kb large; I presume they are some kind of index file
