Where you can get mixed up is with Activity Codes, which is why I recommend removing any organisation before copy/paste. Also, remember that the Activity ID acts as the index for any target plan and that by changing the id, you will lose any index to the target. Aside from that as you say, works just fine. If you thought over the setup of your planning it wouldnt be necessary. There are several possibilitys but be carefull, the activity ID is unique and is related to all the information in a task. Best you do is - make a copy of your project and then - make a character custom data Item with 10 positions, call it ACTN (Activity ID New) - make an export to a *.WK1 file from your ACT ID and ACTN - Renumber now in excel or lotus under the coloumb ACTN the new ACT ID - Import this file and the new ACT IDs are in the custom data Item. - Now make a global change to replace your ACT ID with ACTN.
