i agree with jose cause if your not going to have store period performance it will be linear......P3 will distribute it linearly...... and your report will be misleading....
so from the beginning or start of the project update you have to have store period performance.........
Go to "Tools"-->"Graphic Reports"-->"Resource and Cost".
click on Add button.
now number your report and click add.
1. a window appears click on the tab titled "Resource Selection" and then right click on either "Low Value Resource / Cost Account" (depending on the type of report u want" and select the desired resource/cost account.
2. on the tab titled "Content" select schedule types that u want to be shown on the s-curve "eg. select current and Target 1 to show actual vs. planned dist." and also select the type of data u want to show "resource or cost".
on the curve section check the curve type u want to show "histogram bars or scuver or both of them".
3. on the tab titled "Dates" select the Time Periods which u want to show in your curve and select the interval between dates "eg. days, weeks, months".
4. I think u can manage the format of the other tabs by yourself "Format, Titles, Pen, Size".
5. on the tab called "Selection", u can select the report to be shown among certain set of activities or wbs and many other criteria (take a look!).
6. after finishing all the settings click on run, a window appears, select the desired output method and click on OK and then another window appears confirming to plot the curve click on Yes.

Hello,
After computing the S curves do not forget to store period performance.
If not doing it your actual progress curve will change past months values when computing it in future months.
In order to ensure that computed values do not change it is needed to store period performance.
