I like the way you’ve got the profile information displayed, but you’re getting the same problem as every other forum, including PP; you only get the information that people are prepared to give you.
While profiles can be quite useful, to be honest, I very seldom look at them. If you browse through the forum for a bit, it becomes fairly evident which members to ask for advice, try out an idea on or you would want to work with, and which ones are full of bull.
We have member profiles at the PMKB forums that allow you to enter biographical information and professional credentials, but most people will get a sense of your competence by your participation in discussions IMO.
I had a look at your profile on eng-tips.com and at your profile on PP. To be honest, PP gives more information about your experience, where the bulk of the information on eng-tips.com seems to be about the discussion forums you use. I dont think adopting the eng-tips.com style of profile would benefit PP.

Different Forums have different options which can not be implemented wholly solely in other forums so your suggestion is good but it seems to be difficult in this forum.
Moreover, already developed profile in this forum is not too bad , serves the purpose.

I protest Mr Randell.
Monitoring this threead I discover risky postings by men seem to bypass the thought police.
This is a blatant case of sexism.

Mr Randell, look forward to seeing future mud sling shots from the thought police on that last comment.
