I have a lot of SureTrak experience, and do not recognise the problems uou describe, BUT
The mere mention of the word "outline" leads me to believe that you are using Suretrak as if it were MSP. I always use Suretrak in the "Project Groups" mode i.e. using the solid Btrieve file format. This is MUCH more reliable, and confers 98% compatibility with P3.
I have used SureTrak for many years now and I think it is OK for construction and building scheduling, especially when the schedule is not resourced and it is one of the more suitable software packages out there. I have never experienced the issues you describe..
