1985-86 National Coal Board Coal Liquefaction Project - 4t/hr Pilot Plant. A pilot plant exploring a new process for the production of petroleum from coal. Produced a level 3 CPN, manhour & drawing control systems.



1981-83 Sentrachem, SOUTH AFRICA Rand 360M, 60,000 tonnes p.a. Synthetic Rubber Project. Largest southern hemisphere construction project at the time: 1.5 million design manhours, 11 construction manhours. Principal Planning Engineer leading a team of three. Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of a two year, three phase commissioning programme. Involved visits and liaison with Snamprogetti, the process contractors and with Fluor, the main contractor, to integrate construction with commissioning. By re-sequencing access dates and priorities I was able to achieve a 15-week reduction in the overall project duration.



1980-81 £27M Crude Oil De-Salting & Effluent project, British Petroleum, Grangemouth, Scotland. Responsible for on-site liaison and acceptance of the managing contractor’s planning function.



1976-77 East Rand Gold & Uranium Company Mineral Reclamation Project, SOUTH AFRICA Retrieval of gold, uranium and sulphuric acid from mine dumps. Responsible for on-site planning of erection and commissioning.
