Planning Engineer – Covanta – Dublin Waste to Energy Project– April’09 – Jan’10.
Covanta Energy’s “Energy-from-Waste” facilities convert municipal solid waste into renewable energy. The Dublin project is circa €300 million facility, which marks Covantas most significant entry to date into the European waste and renewable energy markets. Jacobs Engineering are responsible for overall design and construction management of the facility.
Sean had a key role in developing the construction strategy and schedule for the project, and insuring that the schedule was integrated with design and procurement. Sean integrated key vendor packages such as, Fisia boiler package (circa €70 million), LAB air pollution control package (circa €50 million), Turbine Vendor and ESB programmes into the overall schedule. The project was scheduled to ensure execution would support Covanta’s business plan for investment return within a fixed time duration from construction commencement.
