Planning/Engineering Manager                              2000 to 2006

Elmer’s Products Inc is a privately owned business and one of the oldest brand name companies of North America, whose revenue is more than 700 M$ with 1500+ Employees Globally. The company is in the business of manufacturing adhesives, wood fillers, and paint products. At Elmer’s, I was appointed as Planning Manager to carry out the strategic planning and scheduling of the relocation of a huge chemical (Glue) Plant from NY USA to Toronto Canada.



Major Responsibilities included:     



As Engineering Manager:                                   2003 to 2006



Responsible for the supervision of design and construction activities of new facilities and modifications to the existing facilities.



Responsible for identification, execution and commissioning of all capital projects.



Pre-qualification and negotiation with Vendors, Contractors and suppliers as well as their supervision, coordination, and management.



Responsible for preparation of preventive maintenance program of chemical and production machinery and equipment such as (HVAC, Boiler, Transformers, switchgear, compressors, Security, Fire & Sprinkler system).



As Planning Manager:                                        2000 to 2003



Prepared tender programs of Infrastructure, building, and equipment for senior management reviews.



Preparation of Programs, which included (Enabling works), design, procurement, construction and commissioning works.



Tracked and advised management on project schedules and issues on day-to-day basis.



Prepared and managed relocation and commissioning strategies for the plant.



Assessed extension of time claims from contractors and advised actions to be taken.
