Working on TfL’s London Tramlink mode projects as a Programme Planning Engineer, which includes new tram schemes, tram stops and tram refurbishment projects, track renewals and research and development projects. The job also involved Project Control duties such as project reporting, budget forecasting, and risk management along with PMO responsibilities.
• Developed and maintained rolling resource based support programmes for the new tram schemes; WLT, CTLE, CRT.
• Developed and managed trams and tram stops refurbishment programmes.
• Developed and managed track renewal programmes.
• Developed and maintained programmes for each of the Research and Development projects.
• Developed Work Breakdown Structures, cost loaded, analysed programmes and advised Executive Team of key issues.
• Established WBS & Internal Order codes on SAP and KPI reporting arrangements for the project.
• Input to and extract of SAP cost and time data on a periodic basis.
• Production of 4-weekly and 2 week look ahead programmes, progress reports, both financial & programme for submission with the period reports.
• Assessed programme slippage and determined/assessed recovery strategy.
• Regular review of plans and resource profiles with business managers and project teams.
• Reviewed contractor submitted programme to ensure compliance with the agreed Project Remit, Key Milestones and Project End date.
• Established and regularly managed PMO for London Trams team.
• Additionally undertook project control manager’s duties and have managed budget and VOWD reporting periodically.
• Provided on the job training to temporary and permanent Project Control Managers.
• Project-managed the “Asset Management Specifications Development” project and “Development of Project Procedures” for London Trams. Acquired valuable knowledge of contract management during these tenures.
