Gathering release information:
Schedule and manage patches to all environment (production and ETE)
Create an umbrella case for every patch / release.
With the PM’s link cases to the umbrella case.
With the CM allocate a stream to the patch / release / umbrella case.
Track all cases within the release and ensure cases, defects and change orders are updated and in sync.
Liaise with Project managers/ Developers regarding any releases.
Follow-up on progress.
Sending out daily updates – “Testing Schedule and Progress” a graphical representation which keeps Unibase informed as to the progress of the current releases.
Responsible for release notes. And installation notes
Log Change Order for release to production.
Follow up for closure of cases after deployment to production.
Liaise with Production Support.
Managing production issues:
Liaise with Support regarding new events which are handed over
Liaise with Project managers / Analysts regarding new change orders. Support logs cases for all change orders that must be handed over to the development team. With the PM’s allocate new cases to patches / releases according to severity.
Continually monitor these cases, as well as their reference numbers for any new developments which can be added to the relevant Event number.
Managing change request:
Liaise with Project managers / Analysts regarding new change requests. A Change Request case must be logged for the development team. With the PM’s allocate new cases to patches / releases according to severity.
Continually monitor these cases, as well as their reference numbers (i.e. TD defects or PTR’s) for any new developments which can be added to the relevant Event number.
Managing defect issues:
Liaise with SQA and SDVT regarding new defects allocated to the development teams. Liaise with Project managers / Analysts regarding new defects. The API logs cases for all defects that are allocated to the development team. With the PM’s allocate new cases to patches / releases according to severity.
Continually monitor these cases, as well as their reference numbers (i.e. TD defects, change orders, cases and activities, project tasks) for any new developments which can be added to the relevant Event number.
Streams and activities:
Liaise with CM to determine which streams are active and in use.
Ensure that developers maintain the integrity of stream, views and activities.
Ensure that the mappings of releases are correct.
Continually monitor these activities and cases to ensure that Change Management integrity is maintained.
Release Progress:
Preparing reports for various releases. Prepare report daily and mail to relevant project / development team.
Attend bug scrubs
Monitor defects on current bug scrub list. Gather feedback information for the bug scrub.
Attend daily project bug scrubs for the various test environments and give feedback.
Attending Unibase Production issues meeting – twice daily. (Telecon with Business.)
Build SPOC
Daily administration and management as the Build SPOC.
Continually monitor all relevant queues and make sure the required process is adhered to.
Update all cases regularly with latest information and assign to the relevant queue.
Update release info in each case.
Keep processes flowing smoothly?
Reports (Defects, Projects, etc.).
Update project schedule in MS Project. Ensure that all tasks are assigned to the correct resource and track.
Liaise between the project schedule and the release schedule
