Position : DESIGNER – Outside Plant Engineering (Sept. 6, 1997 to Sept. 30, 2002)
: PLANNING TECHNICIAN – Area Network (March 7, 1996 to Sept. 5, 1997)
Norconsult’s project is a telecommunication design and consultancy to Saudi Telecom Company for their Telephone Expansion Program of 1.6million Lines (TEP-6) for its subscribers. For my first 1.5years, I worked with the Area Network Planning in demand forecasting especially in the remote areas of Saudi Arabia. The planning tasks involve training of nominated Saudi Telecom employees for their eventual capability in taking over the job. After completing the demand forecast, I was then upgraded to a post of a Designer with the Outside Plant Engineering department in which preparation and finalization of secondary and primary network designs for the forecasted demand has been executed. I also had been part in some OEM with Pair Gain Systems designing. At the later stage of the project until its completion, I was tasked to introduce and give training to nominated Saudi Telecom employees in handling the company designed database for their eventual maintenance operation.
