The Purpose of a Regional Guild Officer?

The Regional Guild Officer’s (RGO) principal role is to act as an ambassador for the International Guild of Project Controls (GPC) membership in their region.  They will assist in the continual development of the Guild and ensure the successful deployment of the Guilds aims and objectives

Job Role:

  • Play an active role in developing the GPC by contributing to overall thinking and practice development
  • The RGO will be required to represent GPC at regional Guild Interest Group (GIG) meetings
  • Acting as Chairperson or working with the GIG Chairperson at Regional GIG meetings as and when required
  • The RGO will facilitate an effective two-way communication between the Planning and Project Controls community and the GPC
  • Promote GPC to the Planning / Project Controls community
  • Provide a forum in which practitioners can make their views known and suggest improvements in GPC policies, operations and practices
  • Required to meet with the GPC Management on a quarterly basis; due to location constraints, this will be done via tele- conference / internet.  Each meeting will be organised by the GPC.
  • Sitting on the GPC committee(s) if required by GPC

Further Activities Post Phase 2 Launch:

  • Interview GPC applicants to assess their suitability against a set criteria for various GPC membership levels
  • Act as mentor to GPC applicants / members as they go through the accreditation process
  • Review and appraise professional documents as and when required

Person Specification:

  • Proven relevant experience within Contract Administration, Planning & Scheduling, Cost Estimating, Forensic Analysis or Project Controls
  • Good standards of working practice in their professional discipline
  • Excellent leadership skills with a proven track record in conducting staff appraisals
  • Extensive mentoring skills
  • Proven experience in conducting interviews and accessing candidates professional capabilities
  • Sound decision making skills

Reporting Line:

  • The Regional Guild Officer will report into the Guilds Governance Council

Time Commitment:

  • Phase 1 – Whilst we are still under development the expected time commitment is flexible.
  • Phase 2 – Expected time commitment up to 10 hours per month

  3. Provide 2 x completed professional references; one referee being your current or most recent line manager.  Please note that references will be validated by GPC Management; Download RGO Professional Reference Form
  4. Please send the Application Form and 2 x Reference Forms by email to [email protected]

Note * This gives you automatic entry into the GPC but not automatic accreditation. You will still have to undertake this process but you will immediately obtain “member” status
