I worked as a Site Engineer for a development of a residential and commercial complex that includes land development, road and drainage construction/improvement and residential/commercial building construction. I was in-charged in monitoring overall construction activities, coordinating with contractors to ensure proper and timely implementation of works, prepare and submit summary reports to Project Manager, evaluate billings, claims and change orders.

My first role as Site Agent (1989)was to plan and set up a new contract to construct a Teachers Training College in Lehurutse which is just outside Zeerust. Planning was done by hand on A1 sheets of paper and I created two type programmes - a convential gantt chart for the main buildings and a "Line of Balance" chart for the sudent accommodation section.

Period Summary:
I entered employment as a Site Engineer and received significant training and development in Construction Management practice. Ultimately at period end I had been promoted to Site Agent of a small road infrastructure project and was being exposed to all facets required to manage a project.

Solid foundation in Construction Management principles, processes and their interaction gained first hand.
Period Summary:
During this period I was assigned increasing levels of responsibility and was able to develop my Project Management skills, becoming involved in all aspects of a projects lifecycle, from design and procurement stages through to closure and claims.
