EXPERIENCE AND ACHIEVEMENTS IDM PARTNERS PTY LTD November 20120 – Current QUEENSLAND DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORT AND MAIN ROADS (DTMR) Program Manager Following the Queensland floods of 2010/2011/2012 the Transport Network Reconstruction Program was created to reconstruct Queensland’s damaged roads. A State-wide Program Office (SPO) and 12 Regional Program Offices (RPO) were established to manage a $5.25B reconstruction program. Key Responsibilities is to oversee the establishment and on-going operation of 3 RPOs, Far North, North West and Central West with a $1.0B budget.
This role required me to step-up a gear in programme development, the co-ordination / integration of various parties and the collection and presentation of project schedule related information. Coming from a predominately claims background, an Alliance seemed a little foreign. Although design was on-going and changing throughout construction the same date for practical completion remained and thus the programme was highly dynamic.
Upon the completion of the Sugarloaf Pipeline Project, I was predominantly based in John Holland’s Melbourne head office, whilst also fulfilling a minor role on the GASP stations. During this period I have worked on a variety of project tenders over several construction disciplines, including rail, civil and building. Most notable tender wins, which I have been involved in, include a $60m extension to the Victoria State Coroner’s office and two $30m train stations.
The first of several RRL packages to be awarded and the timely
completion is critical in delivering the overall project to the client (MTM/DOT).
Being a design and construct project, the team had to hit the ground running in order
achieve the dates for PC.
Since contract award, the team and myself have encountered many challenges, such as
producing documentation to get access to site and managing external interfaces.
Working around a busy, live rail environment requires careful pro-active planning
