• Provide support to the Area Delivery Manager and the Area Commercial Manager.
• Responsible for planning and performance analysis for schedule, resource and cost data across allocated portfolio of projects.
• Ensure accurate status information is provided to the Project Controls Manager, Area Delivery Manager and Area Commercial Manager.
• Ensure that accurate information is prepared for use in regulatory reports.
• Produce reports detailing the relevant progress and issues, delivered to Project Controls Manager.
• Ensure collation of information from Tender and Project Managers to produce fully resourced tender and project plans within the timescales specified.
• Hold regular reviews with the Project/Contract Manager within his/her assigned area to monitor job deliverables to plan, circulating work-to-lists and action or recovery plans as required, and to provide look ahead information.
• Ensure adherence to laid down procedures for possession management and timely possession implementation.
• Prepare project work breakdown structures and plan in accordance with the requirements of the Guide to Railway Investment Projects (GRIP) to deliver project objectives.
• Ensure the plan is fully resourced and cost loaded and monitor progress to the plan and make changes as required. Develop recovery programme and contingency plans in order to meet changed objectives.
• Input issues into the project’s critical issues risk log. Review risks and ensure the register is updated accordingly.
• Plan, organise, lead and monitor an operational team, and to ensure output objectives are achieved whilst continually maintaining all operational, quality and HS&E requirements.
• Schedule tasks/work packs with the use of reports within the 6 week look ahead in accordance with Lean Manufacturing.
• Prioritise work packs and resource workforce/materials when required.
• Follow operational instructions/processes ensuring all quality and other standards are adhered to.
