As part of Heathrow’s Q6 programme of works all HBS3 Standard 2 machines have to be upgraded to meet new International Security requirements. These are being upgraded to HBS3 Standards, and due to space availability the Single Image 2 machine process has been adopted in T1. The works involve strip out of the IDL Terminal and replacing it with a completely new baggage hall and OOG functionality.

All these projects revolved around either installing completely new Crisplant Sortation Systems, Upgrading old IT infrastructure systems to new SAC/SCARDA/IT Software & Hardware systems. We had civil structures to remove such as supporting walls and foundation breakout/Re-enforcement to accommodate the new structural loading requirements for all the new equipment.
