G.G Engineering was a design and precision engineering business established to provide design and sub contract CNC machining services to local OEM’s in the Aerospace, Cryogenic, Motor Racing, Industrial Gases, Orthopaedic and Pharmaceutical industries. The business was purchased by Holifields Precision Engineering Ltd in January 2000.

Key responsibilities

-        Daily planning of all aspects of production and assembly;

• Programming Including Resource planning, critical path scheduling, cost analysis;

• Independent (external and internal) audit of programs and methodology statements;

• Fee proposals preparation,

• Running client meetings, status reporting (Inc. variation analysis), recommendations to clients and top management;

• On-Site Programming, providing advice on improving construction methods;

• Risk and Delay analysis;

• Mentoring and training of employees;

• Developing, updating and maintaining planning and project management standards.

Involved in the team responsible for tendering, scheduling, resource coordination and budgeting.

Provision of contractual advice in the preparation and defence of claims to be negotiated, adjudicated, arbitrated or litigated, including a loss and expense claim for a sub-contractor, an overview of potential claims and defences available to an employer and general commercial pre-contract advice to developers, employers, contractors and sub-contractors.

Engaged and managed external legal advisers including counsel, on behalf of clients.

Advised developers, contractors and sub-contractors of their contractual obligations and rights on projects of values up to £450million. Provided procurement advice. Defended and prepared claims where appropriate. Produced risk assessments on the likely consequential liability or success of a given claim. Prepared Statements of Case for adjudication. Drafted amendments to standard form and bespoke contracts. Drafted Collateral Warranties, Novation and Assignment Agreements.  

Overseeing the planning, programming and progress / productivity reporting on projects undertaken by the North West region of NG Bailey, including managing four planners and a co-ordinator.

As a Senior Planning Engineer, I handle Planning Engineers, initiate and plan actions for planning and scheduling works to be done, prepare baseline schedules, maintain schedules, monitor projects and prepare reports of the status of all on-going projects of PPCD to the Top Management of the company, prepare PPCD Division planning and scheduling standards, prepare Earned Value Management Plan and Reports, prepare Manpower Monitoring Management Plan, prepare EOT analysis, and attend meetings, among others.
