MBBR - Micro Bio Bed Reactor - civils works for the plant installed by Veolia.  Works consisted of access road, drainage pipework and delivery bay.

Quantity Surveying role for T5+ Enabling works, managing packages and training two assistants.

• Production of tender enquiry submissions and review of tender comparison forms to be presented to the senior QS for final selection.
• Authorisation and compilation of NEC3 Engineering and Contract conditions pricing Option A & B subcontracts throughout the duration of the scheme.
• Chairing prestart meetings with the subcontractor and site team to ensure readiness to execute scope on site.
• Review of subcontractor insurances to ensure alignment to the complexity of scope to be undertaken and compliance with Costain commercial insurance policy for subcontractors.

• Quantity surveyor leading all commercial project duties for 4 schemes and reporting directly into a Commercial Manager.
• Project cost forecasting including production of Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) and Forecasting to complete (FTC).
• Submission of FTC to the client and review of changes in the period.
• Payment applications to the client for the assessment of the cost and or value of direct staff, plant, materials and subcontracted works executed within each period.
• Contract administration of all subcontractors operating under NEC3 ECS contract pricing o

• Project quantity surveyor for a £6m scheme leading all commercial project duties and reporting directly into the managing quantity surveyor.
• Monthly forecasting and presentation of 3 monthly, 6 monthly and whole life forecasts to the senior project manager for review.
• Project cost reporting such as cost versus forecast analysis and project end-of-life estimate analysis.
• Payment application to Thames Water for the assessment of the value of direct staff, plant labour, materials and subcontracted scope executed within each accounting period.

I am a Quantity surveyor working in the Nation's oil and gas upstream sector. I am in the Engineering technical services division specifically in the Civil and survey section. Basically involved in preparing BOQs, BEMEs, BOMs, schedules of rates, quotations etc for civil and building structures. I also handle some administrative functions like organising meetings, preparing weekly and monthly departmental reports, storing and documenting project reports etc. Recently added cost estimating of not only civil/building structuresto my duties.
