Roles and Responsibilities
As Project Controls Manager, I am responsible for and taking a pro-active approach to establishing, implementing and monitoring systems and procedures to secure project and programme delivery for the company’s delivery schedule.
Responsible for all planning related functions within the company, providing Project Control Solutions covering six divisions within the Rhead Group. Leading a dedicated team of twenty Project Control Managers / Planners. Actively involved in gaining new clients/projects implementing full lifecycle Project Solutions into their businesses, including Tendering and evaluations, Bid development, implementation of EVM, Linear Project Control, Risk management (Pertmaster), Forensic Claims, Disputes and EOT both here in UK and UAE, Commissioning, final accounts & handover.
Responsible for Establishment/Monitor/Control (but not limited) to the following
1. Detailed Construction Schedule for Main Civil Works(Level 4) in P6
2. Detailed Construction Schedule for Underground Piping works in P6
3. Progress Measurement System
4. Weekly/Monthly Progress Reports, Weekly/Monthly Lookahead schedule
5. Site Budget, Monthly Cost Tracking(CPI, SPI) Reports using JD Edwards, Ezware(Custom made Timesheets software)
6. Productivity Reports/Analysis
Developing and conducting an in-house training program to enhance performance consistency
Responsible for managing department, Baseline Support, Cost engineering and estimating
Developing and implementing a performance measurement system for the EPCM projects
Enabling system to produce real time status reports, cash flow curves and forecasts
Providing Project Controls direction for the projects within the Energy Business Unit
Integrating with Work Breakdown Structure and financial/accounts payable system
Defining and Implementing Solomon standards with focus on turnarounds and capital expendit
Planning, scheduling and managing overall project/program resources, scope, budget & time
Performance planning for overall refinery efficiency with focus on non-energy variables
Reviewing contractor’s plans, schedules and monitoring project variations/deviations
Defining and recommending project controls policies, procedures and processes
Preparing project progress and performance reports using EV analysis
Client(s): Chevron Texaco, BP Americas, ConocoPhillips PEMEX.
•Uses extensive experience in Project Controls to determine critical project issues and recommend corrective actions.
•Maintains schedule during the project life cycle monitoring progress and incorporating modifications where changes in the original scope occur or delays are encountered.
•Evaluates project deviations to assess schedule impact for proper decision making and recovery plans.
•Cost management to gain alignment when forecasting schedule completion dates.

Supervise preparation and regular updating of detailed schedules and cost relating to Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Pre-Commissioning activities.
•Expedite reports from Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Pre-Commissioning and prepare the monthly Project Progress Report.

Responsible for the following scope: 245 km of 48"-gas and 1.2 km of 40”-gas onshore pipelines construction, including 9 combined block valve sites.
Assuming responsibility for planning and scheduling project preparation and execution as well as procurement, supply, construction and commissioning activities including relevant documentation.
