Senior-level Project Planning and Controls specialist with over 30 years of hands-on construction experience at site in multiple countries across Africa, Australia and Asia. The majority of projects were Oil and Gas or LNG and Mining, but also include Base Metals extraction, Sugar production, Steel and Paper Mills, Agriculture, Infrastructure and Rail development. Worked on diverse mega projects with public and private organisations, from leading multinationals to government departments.
I have been involved in the construction industry for more than 26 years, of which 19 has been in planning / project controls. I worked my way up from a semi-skilled to my current position as Planning Manager. I spent 7 years in the field doing mechanical fitting, pipefitting and boilermaking. In the construction industry, you quickly learn how to do all disciplines, in order to ensure continuous work, both working on my own and also leading teams.
Currently, I am working for Redis Construction Afrika. We currently have three projects in DRC, one project in Ghana, one in Nigeria and one project in Botswana. The Tenke Fungurume Phase 2 and Balance of Plant; as well as Kwale Minerals Sand Project were completed in 2013/14. I travel to all our sites on a monthly basis, to do random audits on all the project control systems, in order to ensure accurate invoices, progress reporting and schedules. I also assist with all tender efforts.
