IT Engineering Projects

Main tasks involved the provision of support to organisational servers, LAN and WAN to the Western Australian Main Roads Department.

Tasks involved the provision of support to the Health Department’s WAN with various technologies including: dark fibre, microwave, Asynchronous Transfer Mode and Time Divisional Multiplexing.

As well as leading the team of Network Engineers I also undertook major projects to improve the network up-time and reduce fault restoration time.  I also led the disaster recovery initiative.

Convert sales department notes into statements of requirements for in-house engineering teams and third party suppliers to construct or configure.  Ensured delivery dates were met and coordinated workarounds as required. 

The project was the provision of infrastructure to support the insourcing of the RAC of WA's insurance arm.  I rebuilt and maintained the schedule from an incomplete and incorrect artefact.

Predominantly sales support, procurement and project coordination.  Created a short course for computer engineers to raise the profile of project maangement concepts in an effort to counteract ongoing scope-creep issues.

My engagement at Telstra (as a Terra Firma Senior Business Consultant) has involved rebuilding the existing MS Project schedule  using 'maps' drawn in MS Visio to visually represent the task dependencies.  While maintaining the schedule I've also worked on project financials to ensure compliance with NBN contracts.

Within Terra Firma I received intensive training enabling me to deliver MS Project training to other staff members.  I have also updated the training materials under the supervision of the Senior Project Controls Lead.
