Progression as a Project Planner

D
David Craig 👤 Member for 16 years 7 months

Hi everyone,

I was just hoping some of you would be able to give me some advice as to how I can progress my career as a project planner. I started of as an electrician but branched into the planning side of the job. I have now been planning for the last 18 months using primavera p6 as well as a range of other tools (Microsoft office, access etc). I have a company review coming up soon and was hoping for a few pointers on the sort of training I could ask for that would benefit me as a planner. I have sat the basic primavera p6 course but that's it really.

Planning Training In London

C
Chris Kooge 👤 Member for 14 years 7 months

Hi everyone,

I have recently moved to London and wish to get some formal training in the planning theory and in particular Asta powerproject.

Up until now all my training and experience has been 'on the job' aka 'sink or swim' and I would like something more formal to build on skills and knowledge I already have.

Can anyone recommend any particular universities or course providers? I am looking for part time study if possible.

Any advice would be great.

Rail Programming help wanted

A
Adam Hey 👤 Member for 18 years 4 months

Hi All,

I would be most appreciative for any help with the following.

I am a planner working for Building Construction Company. We are branching out into new territory and consequently i have been tasked with producing a programme for the Rail aspect of the works. I have absolutely no experience of this and would appreciate any help. Ideally if someone could point me in the direction of a good website / book that explains rail building techniques, constraints and considerations i would be most grateful.
