Balfour Beatty Construction

During my university studies at Loughborough I completed a year working with Balfour Beatty Construction Northern. During this time I was involved with healthcare projects including Salford Royal Hospital and The Christie Cancer, in addition I worked towards the completion of  a number of BSF contract projects. I worked within the planning department where I learnt the basics of how asta powerproject works. Some of the duties I held was to monitor, record and report projects performance against both target and contract programmes.

£10 million resurfacing of M1 motorway.

Snagging of works and addressing defects prior to the Clerk of Works.

Sept to Nov 2001, Sub Agent,

£9.5 million inner city 10-storey office block development.

Brought on to the job for the last 10weeks I ‘pushed’ the behind schedule external works and blockwork finishing them before client handover on a difficult site.

Sept 2000 to Sept 2001, Sub Agent,

£5 million Powergen call centre.
