Nakheel PJSC, Dubai, United Arab Emirates; 2008– 2009:
Nakheel is the force turning the vision of Dubai into reality. When complete, projects such as the Palm Trilogy, the World, Mina Rashid and Waterfront will add more than 600 miles of beachfront to the Dubai coastline and cover over 2 billion sq. ft.
First based in the Home Office Projects Control environment in Johannesburg, where I developed and maintained the Master Project Schedule, during the engineering & procurement phase of the project.
My responsibilities involved co-ordination with engineering and procurement departments to manage the drawing and equipment delivery interfaces with the schedule.
During the construction phase, I was site based in Madagascar, where I was also the ‘Milemarker’ practitioner (a Fluor system for measuring progress and performance).
Industry is overhead power transmission & distribution. Started as trainee site engineer in 1983 and worked up to Project Manager. Moved in to planning in 1995.
Lead the development and execution of the company's strategy. Assure that the appropriate control methods are in place, in order to fulfill our customers and associates needs. Be the public communicator between the company and the community.
Manage Project Managers and developments within budget, on programme and with good quality and ensure compliance with all statutory, building regulations and procurement guidelines.
Report to directors in South Africa on all projects in Ghana.
Analyse and manage new development opportunities to maximise the returns for the company and unlock the value of vacant land and bulk in hand.
Value engineering of developments or redevelopments concepts and refinement to ensure future proofing of the investment.
