Yes, in business there are many risk applications using the pseudo random number generator RAND() function. Fram a CPM standpoint, if you had the time you could perform a monte carlo analysis using RAND(). In fact time might not be that big an issue if you wanted to model only select activities.

For all the interested members in such concept (Risk Analysis Tools), Oracle has provide a much a mazing tool to re-plan and achieve a project goals in many meanings whether cost or time since the quality can be contended in project specifications, it called Oracle Primavera Risk Analysis, this tool can be used in conjunction with MSP, P3, P6, and can be loaded easily from officially Oracle website.

By the way, please check PERTMASTER and @RISK software. These two companies have add-on application for EXCEL, MS PROJECT,and P3 sebjected to RISK ANALYSIS

thanks for the inputs from those who like and dislike my simple RISK Analysis macro. I didnt plan to make it as an end product. My macro and the code should be viewed as a starter. It should show you how to make a simple simulation out of MS Excel and MS Project.

By the way, sorry I didnt write the manual, since I believe we all can figure out how it works.
