do not do it its a seriosu health issue and my have legal implications based on the regulation code in that county, city state area etc. listen to Mikes advice

If it kills you then you will not have to pay any fines, others will pay it for you.

Hi Chomp - Welcome to Planning Planet

Its simple! Never ever do it yourself. Get a specialist to remove it.

For 2 reasons:

1. It will probably kill you

2. You will get locked up for a couple of years

If it is not in the way just leave it undisturbed and put a notice on it.

A few years ago I was renovating an old house and found an asbestos water tank in the loft.

I fitted a new plastic tank and put warning tape around the asbestos one.

Also artex textured ceiling skim was based on asbestos 20 years ago don't try to strip it off yourself.
