Installing Project Manager v5.0 Client (P5) on Windows Vista produces a Wrong MDAC version error
Running Project Manager 5.0 setup on Windows Vista and selecting a MS SQL Server/MSDE Driver type produces:
"Bad public user name or password. SQL Server Error: Wrong MDAC version. Download latest MDAC version:"
In addition, Microsoft does not support MSDE and SQL Server 2000 on Vista. SQL Server 2005, SP2+ will be the supported SQL database on Microsoft Vista.

The bad news is that you are not just going to have an installation problem but you have gone down a blind alley. Please see this earlier posting for more.
