My suggestion is pretty much the same, check the finish activity finish time. if it finish @ 00:59 is different from finish @ 17:59 where you successor will start next date.
check the planning unit. If all in day, then check the working hour per day.
By default installation, it is 8hr per day. When do progress input by drag on bar instead of type in the value, the result may be fall into some decimal value and cause the problem
