A license file is a text file (openable in notepad)

that P3e company sends to you when you purchase the product.

- it is not the best way to protect a product, but i guess they are trying there best.

so load that when u r setting up your product.

here is a link to a detailed step by step info.

I have a similar problem with Primavera installation. When finishing installation, the setup poped out error messages like "Error creating project PMDB database" and "Error creating MMDB database". I remembered that the setup process asked me a license file for database to be created. What is that?

Any recommendation will be highly appriciated.

Thanks in advance.

hi Alvaro,

I completely understand what you mean:

here is 4 solutions.

Solution 0:

====================

login is admin

pass: admin

if that dont work, follow the rest below.

solution 1: the easy way.

==========================

1. Since you have install this P3e already, uninstall it.

2. Uninstall all of your previous version of MSDE too.

3. Now you have a fresh PC, with no MSDE and no P3e 5 on it

4. Reboot your computer.

(that is where the joke of all IT guys do is reboot computers, come from mate. hehe)

5. Put in P3e 5 disc1, and run the setup.

6. when you get to the option, choose "STAND ALONE"

7. it will install back the MSDE for you, and take care of the rest.

8. All you do is just click next, next. and that is it.

Solution 2: Incase you need it.

======================

1. I was thinking, you probably already have some other database on your PC on that MSDE yes?

2. That is why you have it installed in the first place?

3. If that is correct, then ask your IT guy/girl to backup all of your other database first.

4. Then restore the backup on some test pc, to CONFIRM That the backup works, hehehehehehhehe (make you think?).

5. Now that you are happy that the backup works, then follow "Solution 1 above"

6. Restore all the other database back to your original PC

7. I am sure your IT guy can do a backup and restore of databases.

8. Done. i hope.

Solution 3: this is a more advance way,

=====================

1. but only do this when it is a real production server, not a standalone install on your laptop.-not worth the effort to carry these tasks out. on 1 user environment.

2. interested, then let me know mate.

kind regards,

Vu Dang
