hi mon,

I  am also doing a underground services and maybe the structure that i pasted below might help you.

I have some pointers as follows:

1. MAybe you could include your company initial in your activity id to distinguish the ownership of your program

2. you must define what are your preliminaries, consultant might ask you the breakdown.

3. i found Concrete mix design? is this for chamber? or for concrte blinding prior to chamber?

4. is your chamber cast in situ? i found delivery of precast chamber(DEL 04) and construction of chamber( MUA 09)

5. maybe delivery of pipes and fittings should be one activity

6. In my view, all material procurement activity should be present in construction activity i.e, pipes and fittings- pipelaying, i found heat shrink material and corrosion protection in your engineering, where is this in your construction activity? pipe wrapping?

hope will help,

Got your point regarding balancing of pred, yeah i'll modified my programme, i think FS will result more smooth.

Great advice, thanks.

Hi Mon

Justin is giving you good technical advice so I wil not try to add to that.

Since you are using P3 I assume that you are using SS Links with some lag - which is why your critical path will be distorted.

If at all possible try to break the work down into small spreads - at least between major structures such as pumping stations and crossings.

Try to use FS links if possible - if not then make sure you have a FF link to balance each SS.

Beware of structures - particularly with piled foundations with a 28 day curing period for the test pile.

It is most likely that your true critical path will go through the structures - not the pipeline.

Allow for a shorter working day during Ramadan and peak temperatures.

With automatic welding you can expect up to 500m a day production - semi automatic up to 200m per day.

BTW I have just completed a detailed programme for a 120km gas pipeline using AstaPower project - it took me 90 minutes including all structures and crossings and welder resourced.

Mon,

yes it is normal with pipe line projects, as long as u acheive the planned progress for the paricular month , u'll not face diffculties at the end.

Justin,

Thanks you very much. It's nice to hear that we're working on similar project.

Yeah, I realized your insights. But how about the critical activities that reflects only those latter part of the project, is it normal????

Thanks again in advance.

Hai Mon.

I opend your file , and gone through it , since me too working in a similar project in doha , i found some loggical errors , like sterization & then connect to existing , 6 bar tesing is not included , Hdraulic swabbing should follow Iniial testing , Re-check your "Enginnering" activities . KAHRAMAA needs minimum of 7 days of review for major items , Under closeout , u cannot keep the milestone.1 asbuilt in general  , contractually it should come under Muaither Area & Muraikh Area seperately.

If u need any further assitance , send me an email sjustinjames@gmail.com

The project is an underground pipeline about 100 km long (located on various areas of Doha) with the cost of roughly 28 million USD.

The material is DIP.

My programme is yet to complete. The scheduling is finished, I have yet to load cost and resources.

P3 is the only programme i must use.

I open the link myself and there's no problem downloading file at all.

Hope to have your insights regarding this.

Many thanks,

Mon

Hi Mon

I could not open your link so this will have to be basic stuff.

Is your pipeline above ground or underground?

What size pipe and how long?

What material - steel or concrete?

How many  crews?

And for a start P3 is the wrong software - you need a time distance programme such as Tilos or PowerProject in task-per-line mode.
