Multiple Users - Document from P3 Knowledgebase

Dear Eric,

I am not sure this is the solution. Only thing you need is a licence for multiple users. The idea is installing p3 to an server harddisk.

Install P3 on a server harddisk. Then you can use p3 as the number users that your licence allow. Lets give a quick look for a new user installation.

1. Map the network location of the P3 installation folder to the user

2. Install the P3 as selecting the destinations for the program, project... files from mapped drive.

3. Add a user from NETSET and define properties. (default password for NETSET should be NETSET!!!!)

4. I only performed this on a local server but it should be applicaple for a web based application I dont know.

Best Regards,

Safak

Seems like btrieve is nearing extinction but you can still consider upgrading btrieve to to PSQL, the equivalent for NT as suggested by David, remember too much of an investment in an unsuported product like P3 might not make sense. Maybe they have some licensing options other than a license per user. They sell the PSQL upgrade for btrieve as being as easy as 1,2,3 ????? find out before investing time and money on it. If you decide to consider this option David experience could help.

Follow the links, maybe you are lucky and can contact them for a solution to your problem.

The other option, don’t give up, the settings you refer have to be somewhere.

The way we used to do it was to use a Btrieve NLM for Novell, or the equivalent for NT. THis added some processing muscle at the server end.

I do not think either piece of technology is still available
