two ways i can think of are to use export import or target update
export import
1. back up both schedules
2. open the old schedule and to go tools, project utilities, export
3. add a new specification
4. in the content tab include only activity ID and % complete (you might also want remaining duration)
5. in the format tab I usually use .DBF you can keep the file name C:\P3WIN\P3OUT\P3 if its just a 1 off.
6. leave selection blank for all activities or set up a filter for the activities you want and click RUN
7. open the new schedule
8. go to tools, project utilities, import
9. add a new specification
10. enter the path to your file (C:\P3WIN\P3OUT\P3.DBF)
11. cross your fingers and click RUN
or u could use Target update
1. back up both schedules
2. Open the old schedule
3. go to tools, project utilities, targets and set the new schedule as a target.
4. select the new schedule and click the update button. You may need to try this a couple of times with different options selected in the update target dialogue box
