If you access Primavera Online Interaction (POINT)you see issues that have been dealt with also the enhancements that planners have asked for and are waiting for something to happen.

Some of the issues have been resolved with P6 unfortunately as you use P6 you find that there are still some errors/fustrations which when reported to Primavera hopefully will be resolved as they upgrade their software.
I use P6 and find it OK! Its better than some other planning tools.
I was told (but have no firsthand knowledge) that P6 seems to have resolved some of the errors/frustrations resulting from P5. I havent yet moved to P6, but will be doing so in the next couple of months.
I had so much hope, which Ron has now crushed.... :-)

Hi Dave,
Could you tell me which issues found on the P5 version have been resolved.
I use P5 and I wonder if setting P6 is really valuable.

Brad is right. It allows simple scheduling to be done via the web instead of using a VPN or Citrix setup.
If you read the Primavera website, it tells you the differences.
Thats how they sell new versions.

Anyone got a e-copy of P6 manual?

From a construction scheduling viewpoint, I think that P6 has exactly three new features;
1. fill-down from one cell to the next,
2. grab-and-drag calendar sizing (just like P3 has had for the last ten years), and
3. you can click-and-drag the columns wider (also available in P3 for the last ten years.)
Everything else added appears to be done at the request of IT companies.

Thanks Kannan. I presume P5 manual will also be suitable for P6. Cheers.
