If you are using non-resource driven activities, then resource leveling will only shift activities to use up float, but will not change durations.
If you are using driving resources, the durations will be calculated by the resource and its production rate, so durations will change. Logic will still control order.
If you want a great article, try one by Ron Winter and Michael Nosbisch, "Managing Resource Leveling". I believe it is available on Rons very good website. If you cant get it, email me at chris.carson@alphacorporation.com and remind me about the article. Good luck.

Dear Naveen
Thanks for your reply but, I am still not at a satisfactory level of confidence to say that I know now about resource leveling.
It would be highly appreciated if you or anyone out there share some articles/papers on this topic.

Sajid,
Following is an excerpt from Paul Harriss book Project planning & Control which may clarify your doubt.
Activities have the following options which affect how the duration is calculated.
- Activity types of Task, Independent or Meeting
- Resources assigned to activities may be either Driving or Non-driving
- Resources may have their own calendars
As per this, the first quote refers to an activity based schedule where as the second quote refers to a resource driven schedule.

Naveen
