Try re-scheduling the project using the Progress Override option. If the remaining work bar “corrects” itself, then you have uncompleted work logically preceding the task. This uncompleted work does not need to be immediately preceding, it might be several activities separate from the activity in question.
If your experiment did not “solve” the problem, then I suggest that you investigate the calendar used to see if the days skipped are holidays. Good luck!

In addition to what Ronald said, may be you have one or several Pred. FF relationship. Some times it could affect the calculated Early Finish...
