The USERFIL file is a global file that stores user-specific information such as username, password, and user preferences. To replace the USERFIL.P3 file, do the following:
1. Open the P3.INI file by going to Start, Run and typing P3.INI.
2. Note of the USERFILLOC (E.g. USERFILLOC=C:\P3WIN\P3WORK\USERFIL.P3)
and PROGLOC (E.g. PROGLOC=C:\P3WIN\P3PROGS) directories.
3. In Windows Explorer, browse to the USERFILLOC directory and rename the USERFIL.P3 file to USERFIL.OLD.
4. In Windows Explorer, copy USERFIL.SMP from the PROGLOC directory to the USERFILLOC directory.
5. Rename the USERFIL.SMP in the USERFILLOC directory to USERFIL.P3.
6. Start the Netset application and readd the P3 user names.
Note:
If the USERFIL.SMP file is not in the PROGLOC directory, you can copy it from the P3 installation CD. If you copy the file from the CD, the file is READ-ONLY. To remove this attribute, in Explorer, right-click on the USERFIL.P3 file and choose Properties. Uncheck Read Only in the Attributes section.
