yes i am lebanese and a bit proud. well i have a question, if i publish over the web then all the internet users will have access to my data. how is it possible for only a selected group of people to read my project?

Publishing projects via Web Publishing Wizard will make your projects available for people who do not have P3 but are working in the company premises; you could give access also to people outside, ask your IT guys about DMZone (a part of the company network that is heavily protected against viruses and violations).
thank you alot for that advice but the matter that wories me now if i want to adapt your method of web publishing my schedual is the concept of secrecy that i am worried about. if i publish it over the web then every one can know my future activities and the client could be very mad .... can that be resolved?
i might ask the people incharge of software purchase to buy the PM6 licence and train on it all over again.

I dont think Netset can be used over the Internet; at the time P3 was marketed, Internet was not as used as today.
If you need to give remote users access to the project chedules, you should upgrade to PM6.
If you only want to enable remote users to LOOK at the schedules, use P3 Web Publishing Wizard to create a Projects Web Site that can be accessed thru the Internet; but the schedules will be displayed in html files.
It is also possible to send electronic status sheets to your resources, containing activities to be updated; the resources will open the sheets, fill them in and send back to you; you need Primavera Post Office companion apps to do this, check your P3 cd-rom for that.

why are you using MPX converter to export project data fromP3 to Excel? use export to Lotus 123 or to Dbase3 format instead (dbf format if your project exceeds 2500 activities)
I think it would be much easier to use Global Change and create a calculation formula to get what you want.

as for me now if i may ask a question .my friend , i wish to ask again some specific and nore challenging question regarding the use of primavera.
i am stuck on a stage where i want to find the difference between the variance at early start and the variance at early finish. all i need to know is how to perform column subtraction in primavera?
i tried using the converter to excel and do it there yet i am facing a proplem since MPX does not copy the primavera activity ID. what shall i do?

Find out which project has the latest finish date, in the projects view put this data as a Must Finish By date on each of the 6 projects, hit F9 and you should get a programme critical path.

you would publish as html pages but give access on the company intranet/extranet only, i.e. for authorized users; refer to your network administrator
