James is correct only the layout with all its specific properties like filter , print properties , bar formats , columns and columns formats etc needs to be save manually.
The activity data items are saved as and when u insert/update them.

any activity data you enter is immediately updated in the P3 database. So, changing a duration, activity code (structure or content), logic, etc is immediately written to the database. Whether you choose to save the layout on exit or not makes no difference, the data has already been written
The format of the view (or LAYOUT) that you are in, however, which includes which filter the view loads on opening, the printer settings and the bar colour settings amongst many other things is saved manually by the operator. I am not aware of an autosave function for this.
I suggest you experiment with this. You will find that teh layout system is a very powerful tool in P3, especially in management and reporting of more complex projects.

I do not agree with you, because any information you fed into P3 and you leave it without saving, P3 will ask you when you close "save layout for project ..."
