Nadim,

You can update the target to get the %. I have been practicing this for long time and its working. The updated Target used can be target2 which will be used only for computations. whereas the undisturbed target can be retained for other purpose.

Nadim,

Primavera have the solution to your query, it is titled - ’How to show Planned Percent Complete (PCT) in a project based on Target dates’. If you register with Primavera POINT, you should be able to find the solution, the solution ID is 1999413102022.

This should resolve your query.

Thx for your response, I actually want to compare the %age complete of actual vs target (Baseline). I have a column of actual % complete and another for target % complete.

The target (Baseline) is having a schedule date of project start. People told me that I should not update baseline. But if i dont update the baseline how I can get the planned %age as per the baseline schedule.

I m not sure if i express myself properly.

Best regards

First of all copy the project and then set target (Tools--> Project Utilities --> Targets) the baseline program.

Apply actuals by putting in the actual start, % completion and if its 100% complete, then Actual finish date.

Schedule it by pressing F9. Various options are available for scheduling. Go to Tools --> Schedule and click options.

Also, dont forget to Re-organise after scheduling.

Go to Columns area and then add Target1 early start and Target1 early finish.

Can add VARIANCE Column to check variance.

Go to Bars and then add Target1 bar.

Nadim,

Additional to the latest reply, do not forget to show the baseline bars (in the View/ Bars - options) and consider different row for baseline bars and format as well (as you like), for better visibility and comparison.

Hope these helps.

apply actuals and run your schedule, then compare it with your Target...
