More often than not the progress is not as planned, especially for a job showing a 9 months delay. When progress is not as planned, linking % complete and progress is wrong because of how formulas compute remaining durations using actual durations, instead of original duration once the activity is in progress and has some duration from a prior update period. Even if the software would calculate remaining duration as a function of Original Duration, not taking into account actual duration, the computations will in most cases be wrong.
