The simplest way to convert a P3 schedule to days from hours is to open in SureTrak and change it to a daily schedule in the options form. This only works if the schedule has eight hour day calendars
If you do this with P3 using the copy function then Global change may be used to divide the durations by the number of hours per day and all the lags will also need fixing up. If there are lots lags then I export to dbf format and fix in Excel & import , after backing up.

Thanks for your help. I thought it might be a limited number of planning units. The plan is hours.
I did this as I wanted to have resource calendars for individuals working a shorter week.
I will move the plan to a day unit version. I half-heartedly tried to do this some time ago but gave up when I found it did not change all durations automatically. I can see from some other posts here that I should be able to do that if I put some real effort into it.
P3 allows 9999 planning units. It is something like this and maybe an expert will let us know exactly how it works. Depending on if you are using daily calendars on 24hrs/day you will be restricted to a schedule of just over a year; 9999/365/24. On the other hand a 7day/ week on a daily calendar will be restricted to 27 years 9999/365.
You can always crib a bit of time by moving the project start date up behind the data date as the project progresses as P3 ignores Actual Starts in calculation.

each project group has a global calendar with a certain duration DATA-->Calendar-->Global--> Standard. If your project needs more time, the calendar will automatically adapted; but only to a certain maximum which depends on your planning unit. Check the start date, which I often found being too early and set it to one period before the projects start.
If this will not work, youll have to modify the planning unit by creating a new project group and copying the project.
Calendars limit is due to the fixed record format of the betrieve-database.
